This week we will complete our in-depth look at the Warrior (Virabhadrasana) series. It may seem strange that a pose is named Warrior when an important factor in yoga is its non violence. It derives from the ancient Hindu text the Bhagavad-Gita, which features widely in yoga theory. The scene is set with two great armies, lead by two famous and feared warriors Krishna and Arjuna. There are many lessons promoted in the spiritual texts, in this case the 'Warrior' is battling against the ignorance (avidya), considered to be the ultimate source of suffering.
We will also incorporate some poses to open up to spring and finish the class with a delicious relaxation.
